What this page covers

This notice describes Style Swap AI, the Shopify app that adds virtual try-on to your Online Store (theme app embed and product block). It applies when a merchant installs the app and when shoppers use try-on on that merchant's storefront.

It does not describe the Shop Canvas marketing site or Framer kit alone. For shopcanvas.ai browsing, accounts, and Shop Canvas subscriptions, see Shop Canvas privacy. Style Swap AI is a separate Shopify App Store product.

Roles

• Merchant (shop owner). Chooses whether try-on is enabled, configures defaults, and can review try-on activity in the app admin. The merchant's Shopify store is the storefront shoppers visit.
• Shopper. Uploads a photo on a product page to generate a try-on preview. Use is optional and controlled by the merchant's theme setup.
• Style Swap AI (app operator). Hosts the app backend, routes generation requests, enforces plan limits, and applies retention rules described below.

What we collect and why

Shopper try-on photos and generated images

When a shopper starts a try-on, they upload a photo and select product context from the merchant's catalog. The app sends the photo and generation parameters to our servers to produce a try-on image. Generated outputs are shown on the storefront and may be stored so the shopper can revisit the result during the retention period.

Technical and usage metadata

We process data needed to operate the app: Shopify shop identifier, product and variant references, quality setting used, timestamps, credit or plan consumption, error diagnostics, and similar operational fields. This supports billing limits, merchant admin (try-ons log), abuse prevention, and support.

Merchant admin

When you sign into the Shopify admin app, Shopify authenticates you. We receive shop and staff session context Shopify provides to embedded apps. We do not ask shoppers to create a Style Swap AI account.

AI processing

Try-on images are generated by AI image models from a third-party AI provider that acts as our sub-processor, using the quality mode the merchant or shopper selects. Photo and product-related inputs needed for generation are transmitted to infrastructure we operate and to that provider for inference only. The provider may log requests under its own policies. Merchants who need the provider's name and terms for a regulated context can request them from us.

We do not use shopper photos to train public models through this app, and we do not sell personal data.

Retention

• Try-on photos and generated images are kept for operational use and then removed on a rolling basis, typically within about 30 days, unless a shorter period is required for a specific feature or legal obligation.
• Metadata (for example shop id, product id, timestamps, plan usage, and non-image logs) may be kept longer for billing reconciliation, fraud prevention, and support, then deleted or aggregated when no longer needed.

Merchant controls

Merchants can disable the theme embed or block to stop new try-ons. The app admin includes a try-ons log and settings for defaults (quality, button branding, and related options). For export or deletion requests relating to your shop's data, contact us at the email below; we will action verified merchant requests within a reasonable time.

Shopify billing

Paid plans (for example Trend, Runway, and Unlimited Fashion) are billed through Shopify's app billing. Shopify processes subscription charges according to Shopify's terms. We receive billing status and plan information Shopify provides to the app, not your shoppers' payment cards.

Hosting and subprocessors

The app backend is hosted on Fly.io. Public resource pages on shopcanvas.ai are hosted on Vercel and do not by themselves receive shopper photos. Email to our support address is handled like other mail to contact@shopcanvas.ai (see Shop Canvas privacy for mail routing if you need detail on the website mailbox).

Children

The app is intended for merchants running online stores. Merchants are responsible for storefront policies and for lawful use of try-on with their audience.

Your rights

Shoppers should contact the merchant whose store they used. Merchants and shoppers may write to contact@shopcanvas.ai to ask about access, correction, or deletion relating to Style Swap AI processing, subject to applicable law and what we can verify.
